Scraping List of Advertisers at Findlaw.com
Project Title: Scraping List of Advertisers at Findlaw.com
I am interested in getting a list based off of the advertisers at Findlaw.com.
What is the best way to communicate my needs?
I think the main thing that we want to know is who has a “Findlaw” produced website. Secondly it’d be nice to know who has paid advertising in the Findlaw.com directory (whether or not they have a Findlaw created/hosted site).
We can limit the data to law firms in the state of CA for now.
If you go to the Findlaw directory lawyer search (which is categorized by Practice Area & Metro Area), the resulting pages have 3 distinct sections.
The Tier 1 advertisers (see below blue arrows) have a red “Visit Website” button.
The Tier 2 advertisers (Purple arrows) have a grey background.
The third section is the “free” listings of lawyers. The listings in the 3rd section either have either a link to the “Law Firm Profile” or both “Law Firm Website” AND “Law Firm Profile” (red arrows).
When the listing has a “Law Firm Profile” link only, this indicates that the firm does NOT have a website created/hosted by Findlaw.
When the listing has a “Law Firm Website” link also, we know that this is a Findlaw created/hosted website.
We want contact info for all Findlaw created/hosted websites in the state of California.
Name of Firm
Name of Attorney(s)
Tier 1 or 2 Findlaw advertiser
