Project Title: Scrape Hotels Rates and Availability from Travel Websites

Project Description:
I own a B&B in the UK with seven rooms.

I am looking to see if I can get some market intelligence and scrape the rates and availability of the competition to better understand pricing/availability in my market place.

More specifically, I am looking to scrape their individual sites and collate:

Date: dd/mm/yyyy (for the next 365 days)
Day: M/T/W etc..
Each hotel: (13 hotels to map)
Type of room available: i.e. A, Price: i.e. £129, Plan: i.e. B&B/Room Only, No. of rooms available: i.e. 5
Type of room available: i.e. B Price: i.e. £99, Plan: i.e. B&B/Room Only, No. of rooms available: i.e. 4
Etc…

The aim is to then be able to run some rules so that I can collate and analyse that data simply and effectively. So ideally in Excel format. Sort of rules I will look to apply are by date, day of the week, season – Type of Accommodation, High/Low rate etc. i.e. Summer, 4 star hotel, High/Low Price.

I would want ownership of code, set up in the cloud. But probably some ongoing management as well to keep it up/future proof.

It may be that some of this can be done through scraping OTA’s. But as far as I can see, sites like Booking.com don’t show number of rooms available on a specific date.

Build a database of attractions places across the world from TripAdvisor. How many places are there and what will be the cost of data extraction?
