Project Description:
I want to transform data on statewide ballot measures and have an Excel file as output.
The data can be found on the following website: https://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/ballot-measures-database.aspx.
To see the full data, tick “All” for every option and click on “Show All Summary”. You will see a long list of thousands of records.
I want to transform these data so that each ballot measure is a row with the following columns:
State, Ballot name, Ballot ID, Election, Type, Status, Topic Areas, Summary1, Summary2, Summary3.
The only potential problem is that the state names are on top of the first ballot of the state. It probably makes sense to hand-fix those 50 cases.
