Project Title: Data Mining/Web Research Services

Project Description: We are beginning a new strategy of completing monthly surveys on different topics. We are looking for a firm to comb through websites and find contact information for our target survey responders. Please respond to this message with a time and cost estimate for project presented below:

Finding the name, mailing address, phone number, and email address of the Public Works Director and two other public works employees (esp Streets Supervisors) for every city in California. Though most of this is public information readily available on city websites or league of cities lists, a deeper dive would be needed for 1/4 — 1/3 of the contacts.

The priorities in terms of the individuals to contacts are:

1. Public Works Director

2. The top people below him in terms of hierarchy, with special attention being paid to Street lighting Supervisor or Street Supervisor. Not every city will have these positions, but special attention should be paid to them if they are present. Other titles to look for are:

    a. Deputy Public Works Director

    b. Public Works Superintendent

    c. City Engineer

    d. Assistant Public Works Superintendent

    e. Maintenance Supervisor

In terms of finding the contact information, check city websites (by typing in ‘Los Angeles Public Works’ in Google and finding the link) for instance. Also, look for city public works directories or in city board minutes.

– The idea is for you to be able to figure out the best way to complete this rather than us.

The sample project I have attached is for 50 cities. If you feel that 50 cities is too much to cover in a sample, please do however many you feel is sufficient in the order that they are presented. Keep in mind that sample we are giving you is one we finished completely, meaning we found all of the contact information listed at each city. We would expect the same results from you.
